After 35 years of public service and 18 years working devotedly as the Executive Director for OCRC, G. Michael Payton is set to retire on December 31, 2019. OCRC is truly grateful for having had the honor of serving under Director Payton and experiencing firsthand the great accomplishments he has made to advance civil rights in Ohio.

October 10, 2019 - Ohio Civil Rights Hall of Fame
OCRC and sponsors welcomed the 2019 Ohio Civil Rights Hall of Fame inductees at the 11th annual induction ceremony. Thomas Jefferson Ferguson, Mary Hackney, Dr. Jack Hansan, Jerrie Mock, Burt Silverman, and Stanley Tolliver were inducted. For more information, click here.

Staff from OCRC's Central and Columbus Regional Offices celebrated the 60th Anniversary of the agency. The Ohio Civil Rights Act of 1959 was signed into law on July 29, 1959 by Governor Michael V. DiSalle. Here's to many more years of civil rights enforcement!
